The idea

Plants become experiences.

Every plant carries its own nature within. At Tamaki, the aim is not to mask these natural qualities, but to make them visible, fragrant and tasteable.

From single base plants we create pure specialities or harmonious compositions. Some products remain deliberately pure. Others are combined so that a new whole emerges: complex, but not complicated. Simple, but never ordinary.

Tamaki

A pioneer for rare speciality crops

Tamaki was born from a deep passion for plants — from the desire to discover, cultivate and bring rare, robust and aromatic crops to life in Switzerland in a natural way.

Over the years, special plants from around the world have been collected, observed, trialled and refined. Not every plant suits our climate, not every variety convinces on the palate. That is precisely why every product in the range is the result of experience, patience and careful selection.

Tamaki is not a mass producer. Tamaki is a place for speciality crops, experiments, craftsmanship and flavour.

False saffron (safflower)

This year a first trial — not yet for sale. The small harvest goes as a gift to our best customers and friends.

Every batch is limited. Every harvest is different. Every season brings new nuances.

Not industrially standardised. But alive.

The processing

Gently refined, so nature is preserved.

A good product does not begin in the packaging. It begins in the soil.

Plants are grown close to nature, carefully harvested and especially gently dried or processed — so that aromas, fragrances, colours and flavours are preserved as unaltered as possible.

Nothing should be louder than the plant itself.

New distillery · 2025

Plant oils and hydrosols from our own steam distillation

With the new plant steam distillery, Tamaki expands its possibilities. From selected aromatic and medicinal plants — such as clary sage — we create high-quality plant aroma oils and hydrosols.

Gentle steam distillation captures fine fragrance and plant compounds that open up a new dimension for the range: from cultivating rare speciality crops towards a small Swiss manufacture for natural aromas, plant essences and distinctive fragrance products.

Here too the same holds true: small quantities, careful selection, genuine quality.

Swiss origin

Transparency you can recognise.

Tamaki stands for clear origin and honest declaration. So you know exactly what lies in your hands.

No hidden origin. No fine words without substance. Just quality you can trace.

  • Products grown and processed entirely in Switzerland clearly bear the Swiss cross.
  • Ingredients that do not originate in Switzerland are transparently declared on the label.
  • Swiss ingredients are clearly highlighted.
Why Tamaki costs more

True handwork has true value.

Tamaki products are made independently, in small quantities and without agricultural direct payments or subsidies. The price reflects the real effort involved.

With every purchase you directly support the building of rare speciality crops, independent Swiss agriculture and a project that stands out not through volume, but through quality.

Network & collaboration

Rethinking rare plants.

Plants, seedlings & speciality crops

Tamaki is also a living network for rare plants and new cultures. On request, and subject to availability, plant material, seedlings or cuttings are available — swaps and exchanges expressly welcome, especially for rare, robust or aromatically exciting plants, fruits and berries.

Collaboration

Are you a farmer, gardener, restaurateur, producer, creative company or private individual with an interest in special plants? Possibilities include joint speciality crops, new product ideas, trials, consulting, cultivation concepts or creative partnerships around aroma, spices, fruits and natural products.

The focus is on long-term, sustainable and innovative ideas. Anyone who wants to build something special is warmly invited to get in touch.

The promise

Pure. Rare. Honest. Swiss.

Tamaki brings the best of plant, soil, craft and experience into one natural cycle. What emerges should not feel artificial, not loud, not arbitrary — but real. A product should pass on the power of the plant: the fragrance, the flavour, the colour, the warmth, the memory.

  • From the earth into the hand.
  • From the plant into the kitchen.
  • From nature into pleasure.
